Module 2: Stage 1 - PRELIMINARY, Purification

Last activity on January 20, 2025

PM Practice (langhana): Rest, Digest, Let Go

Langhana = reducing.

This practice is down-regulating: reducing excess of mental and physical fullness through exhale krama (progression of exhalation), with lower abdominal twist for tonification to the colon to facilitate digestion and elimination.

Calming and quieting, this is PURIFICATION that is done through “letting go” – simply exhaling longer and allowing a moment of suspension between breaths. This reduces internal heat as well – so do not be surprised if you feel chilly at the end. Have a blanket ready for savasana.

HOMEWORK:

Do the practice in the evening. Choose 1 or 2 poses from it and do just that bit WITH breath as instructed, for shorter practice.

Ayurvedic focus: Vata, Pitta
