practice in context of LIFE:
Ayurvedic Yoga
Ayurvedic yoga harmonizes the body and mind with Nature, balancing the elements within in order to withstand the pressure from without, preventing and remediating common health discomforts.
Ayurvedic yoga is taught seasonally, in 7-week sessions. Each session addresses health challenges inherent to current season according to the active dosha (Vata in Autumn, Pitta in Summer, Kapha in Winter / Spring).
7 fires of knowledge (5 senses, the mind, and the intuition) are addressed in each class with special tools and techniques, in order to balance the predominant dosha holistically, across the entire spectrum of human being: body, mind and senses.

Spring is known as cold, flu, and allergies season. Nature puts new pollen in the air, and, as the accumulated Kapha begins to melt with warming temperatures, mucus production is increased, showing up as sinus & lung congestion, rattling cough, sinus pressure, itchy watery eyes and other allergy symptoms.
In this series we focus on strengthening the respiratory system with specific yoga asanas, meditation and pranayama practices. We also use sensory input to lift Kapha across all five senses.
